Wearing a mask since December 2019 has become the new normal. Wearing a mask while going out or in public meetings is essential and enforced by the authorities so you should make sure that you are wearing it in a proper and healthy way. Here we discuss 7 mistakes that very often people make while wearing a face mask. Here are some serious mistakes which should be avoided at all costs.
1- You should wash your reusable mask:
You must take your mask the same as your clothes, Like everyday use of dress, you should take your reusable mask or cloth mask as the part of your dress. Your mask becomes contaminated with anything in the atmosphere like viruses, bacteria, fungi. That means if you are not washing it regularly, it can infect another person you leave it with every time when you take it off. You must ensure that your mask is hygienic and more likely to save you from the pandemic. One must make sure to keep multiple masks for use perhaps one for each day of the week. Make sure to wash it with your laundry routine.

We know that wearing a mask is not a comfortable addition to your clothing and making it a habit in your daily routine. If you are not getting used to wearing a mask every time you go out or making contact with people you may find it difficult to wear it in a proper way. Most of the time you will find yourself adjusting it or sliding it down to your nose and sometimes sliding it to your chin. By all this touching and adjusting your mask will make your mask more infected. Every time you touch your mask you don’t know that somehow you are infecting your mask with germs and bacteria. You don’t know what thing is the carrier of Corona and sometimes deliberately or unconsciously when you touch something it may cause your hand to contaminated and touching your mask will make your mask more contaminated and infected with the corona virus. That is why you should wash your hand more often. Whenever you get a chance to wash your hand you must do it. Once you reach your home you should avoid touching your nose r your eyes while removing your mask.
5: Use of the mask with a valve
You may find the mask with the valve more fashionable or hi-tech. they seem to have a valve that is more effective of inhaling the fresh air or exhaling the contaminated air but masks with valves are more highly at the risk of infected with the virus. Masks are meant to keep you from expelling the saliva in your mouth which can affect other people but these kinds of masks are at high risk by keeping you and others safe while sneezing. Respiratory droplets can stick into these valves and wearing them over and over puts you at high risk of getting germs and viruses through that mask. Generally, these masks are used to block the intake of polluted or unhealthy air or construction material. You should stick with a cloth mask or disposable mask in order to keep yourself safe from viruses.
6: Wearing a disposable mask backward
While wearing a surgical or disposable mask there is a chance of wearing it upside down or backward. You can do it while putting your mask in a rush or in an emergency situation. There is only one way to wear it properly with the color side facing outwards. The side that should touch your face is usually white. Inside of the mask is an absorbent material. The other side or the outside of the mask is the waterproof side. Always wear it in a proper way with the metal wire pressed down against the bridge of your nose.
7: Improper or ill-fitted way
One size does not fit all when we talk about masks. If you wear an over sized mask it will not prevent viruses and other germs properly. Before wearing it you should fix it to your own need. You must make sure that you are not spreading your breath around or intake outside air. Make sure that particles cannot escape or get inside of your mask. You should adjust and fit your mask around your nose and mouth. Make sure that there is no gap around your nose and mouth. Keep your mouth and nose properly intact.
